***Group Interpretation Plans***: As of 2021 HSI & EPRG have begun transitioning towards implementing authenticity standards and interactive expectations, which all groups and individuals must adhere to in order to attend and to continue attending. As reenactors and living historians, it is your goal to interact with the public in an educational and interesting way.
Our reenactment battle is an aspect of the historical interpretation efforts of several groups and their respective impressions. Because of this, because of the overall desire for historical accuracy, and because of the relatively limited space of the sight, specific impressions will be eligible to participate in the public battle. These impressions / groups are those portraying 5th Rangers, 88th ID, 79th Infanterie, and other individuals portraying German forces. If you are a member of a group not portraying any of these specified impressions, you will not participate in the main public battle.
New Group Leaders: We would like a brief description of the point in time you and your group will be portraying, and how you plan to make your portrayal interactive, realistic, and informative for public spectators. We are looking for a more sincere approach to the history of World War II beyond a basic show and tell approach to showing off weapons or equipment. Static displays can be found in museums or parks, living history is supposed to be more lively. We are looking for your best attempt at recreating or portraying events experienced by the unit of your focus, both visually and orally conveying details specific to that unit's history. Beyond that, how you and your group goes about this is up to you to decide.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT US PRIOR TO JULY 1ST.
